About Us

Radyr Rangers Football Club provides community football to Radyr and Morganstown and the surrounding areas. Since its inception the club has grown year on year successfully providing football for over 250 children and young people annually engaged in fun, healthy and purposeful activities.

The evolution and success of the club lies in the strong foundations originally put down by the club’s founders and the commitment and the passion of the all the coaches and committee, past and present.

How does my child join Radyr Rangers?

Children can join Radyr Rangers at any time, our Development Squad for children in the school years of Reception and Year 1 meet every Sunday morning at The Mound Field, Morganstown. Under-7s through to Youth football train on weekday evenings with training moving to the astroturf at Radyr Comprehensive School during the winter months.

If your child wishes to join please email the Radyr Rangers Secretary or fill in the online contact form and we’ll be put you in touch with a coach or team admin from the appropriate age group to get you started.

Can I coach or help with Radyr Rangers?

Radyr Rangers is run entirely by volunteers, teams will always need help with administration (registering the children, collecting subs, booking the end of season bash), fundraising and, if you’re interested in coaching, then let one of the coaches in your child’s age group know.

If you are a parent taking your child to the Reception age group with the Development Squad, then we are always looking for mums and dads to come together to organise and coach that year group.

Any parent who gets involved will need to be DBS checked which the club will organise with you, and each year group must have a registered First Aider.

Once you enter the Under-7s age group and above you will be required to have obtained the FAW Football Leader’s Level 1 coaching award if you intend to coach, and only coaches with this qualification will be allowed pitchside during matches, again the club will pay for you to attend the course and obtain the qualification. So if you think the dug-out is for you, or if you just want to make a difference in getting kids active, then here’s your opportunity! There’s also a great social scene amongst the coaches in age groups and between age groups including 5-a-side get togethers!

Radyr Rangers Festival

The Radyr Rangers Festival takes place in May annually and is a major source of our club income each year. If you are a business that could get involved with sponsoring this event and can lend support in another way please get in touch.
